Step 3: Using your products (admin, preview, move, support, delete)

Managing My Products

Now that you have some products installed, you will want to be able to manage each product. Below is a video and step by step instructions on how to manage your products. 

 

 

Admin: Add content (images, pages, etc) to your product (Start video at marker 0:22)

  1. Click on the "My Products" button on the left 
  2. Find the product you would like to manage
  3. Click the "Admin" button (first button to the right of the product) - Hint: This will launch the admin for this product. If it is a blog, you will have to login to the backend. If it is a website or application, it will auto log you into the backend

 

How to preview a product (Start video at marker 1:45)

  1. Click on the "My Products" button on the left 
  2. Find the product you would like to preview
  3. Click the "preview" button (second button to the right of the product) - Hint: there is a funny URL that only you will see. Your clients will see the real URL. This gives each product a unique URL so that you can easily move the product when needed.

 

Move a website or application (Start video at marker 2:02)

  1. Click on the "My Products" button on the left 
  2. Find the product you would like to move
  3. Click the "Move" button (third button to the right of the product)
  4. Use the dropdown to change the domain from the default intothedarkroom domain to any domain that you have added.
  5. Edit or remove the folder name (ie: /mysite). Hint: you will now see your domain written out in blue (ie: mydomain.com/folder).
  6. Click "Move Now"

 

Move a blog or change database (Start video at marker 2:34)

 Move your blog's Current Location (Start video at marker 2:34)

  1. Click on the "My Products" button on the left.
  2. Find the product you would like to move.
  3. Click the "move" button (third button to the right of the product).
  4. Click "Change" Current Location.
  5. Use the dropdown to change the domain from the default intothedarkroom domain to any domain that you have added.
  6. Edit or remove the folder name (ie: /mysite). Hint: you will now see your domain written out in blue (ie: mydomain.com/folder).
  7. Click "Move Now".

Change Database (Start video at marker 3:30)

  1. Click on the "My Products" button on the left.
  2. Find the product you would like to move.
  3. Click the "move" button (third button to the right of the product).
  4. Click "Change" Current Wordpress Database.
  5. Use the dropdown to select from an existing database or "Enter A New Wordpress Database Name". Hint: You can type in any name for this database. You are the only one that will see it. 
  6. Click "Move Now".

 

Find support documentation for each product (Start video at marker 4:40)

  1. Click on the "My Products" button on the left.
  2. Find the product you would like to find documentation on.
  3. Click the "Support" button (fourth button to the right of the product).

 

Delete a product (Start video at marker 5:05)

  1. Click on the "My Products" button on the left.
  2. Find the product you would like to find documentation on.
  3. Click the "Delete" button (fifth button to the right of the product).
  4. Warning screen will prompt you twice before it is gone forever.
